ABOUT US
In broad-spectrum, we employ genome and proteome scale datasets to reconstruct the evolution of various gene families, functional categories and divergence, intraspecific and inter-specific variations, and evolutionary processes that underpin the diversity of our protein/gene families of interest.
To mention a few topics, the group is interested in:
1) The expansion of molecular toolkits that underpinned the evolution of chemosensation in early-branching metazoans and other basal invertebrate animals
2) Evolution and diversification of molecular armaments that diversified post vertebrate genome doubling events to combat vertebrate viruses
3) Lineage-specific expansions of gene families in eukaryotes
4) Deep synteny based rewiring of untapped GPCRs with established targets to extend the prospects of the druggable human genome
